Original artwork.
Fissuré is a mixed-media artwork on wood by Hélène Lafontaine, where natural materials become the heart of an abstract composition filled with delicacy and depth. The artist incorporates pieces of wood retrieved from lake bottoms and small stones polished by water and time. Gathered at the center of the artwork, these elements in rich shades of brown create a striking contrast with the soft gray, beige, and dusty pink tones surrounding the composition. Fine black and golden lines flow across the surface, evoking cracks, roots, or mineral veins that seem to connect the elements. Through its textures and interplay of light, the artwork reveals the beauty of natural imperfections and invites us to discover the hidden richness within the traces left by time.
