With Celui qui évite, Isabelle Langlais presents an intimate urban scene in which architecture becomes a silent witness to inner life. The glass façade, composed like an almost cinematic grid, reveals illuminated offices, workspaces, empty chairs, and a solitary figure. Each window becomes a fragment of a story, a space observed from a distance, suspended between human presence and isolation.
Through mixed media, the artist layers textures, transparencies, and graphic details, giving the surface a vibrant depth. The deep blues of the exterior structure contrast with the warm yellows and oranges of the interiors, creating a tension between the outside world and the light held behind the glass. Celui qui évite subtly evokes those moments when the city reveals its quiet solitudes, its silences, and its nearly hidden presences.
