In La tour d’or, Humberto Pinochet takes us to Seville, along a lively promenade dominated by the iconic Torre del Oro. Bathed in warm light, the tower glows against a dramatic sky where blues, whites and greys mingle in spontaneous brushstrokes.

In the foreground, strolling figures bring the scene to life, while tall trees frame the composition and cast shifting patterns of light and shadow across the walkway. Loose brushwork, strong contrasts and luminous colours convey the energy of the setting. True to his traveller’s eye, Humberto Pinochet does more than depict an urban landscape: he captures its atmosphere, movement and the distinctive light that is so central to his pictorial world.
