Original artwork.

Pause silencieuse is a pixelism acrylic on canvas by Hélène Lafontaine. In this peaceful scene, a red canoe rests gently on calm water, surrounded by the light of a vast lakeside landscape. True to her visual language, the artist builds the image exclusively from juxtaposed rectangular shapes, with no diagonals or curves, creating a composition where the vibration of light meets the memory of the landscape. The luminous blues of the sky and water blend with the greens and yellows of the wooded shoreline, while fragmented reflections animate the lake’s surface. Poised between figuration and abstraction, this work invites calm, contemplation, and escape.
