Original artwork

In Sunset, Lac La Biche, AB, Justina Smith captures the magic of a sunset over the tranquil waters of Lac La Biche in Alberta. Along the horizon, the orange-red sun slowly disappears behind the dark silhouettes of trees, while its final rays illuminate the water with beautiful golden and pink reflections.

Through an expressive combination of brushstrokes, textures, and delicately interwoven patterns, the artist brings the subtle movement of the water to life. The deep blues of the foreground contrast with the soft pastel shades of the sky, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

With this painting, Justina Smith invites us to embrace a moment of tranquility as daylight gently gives way to night and nature reveals its most beautiful harmonies of color.
