In Boléro de voix d’oiseaux aux bois oubliés, Claudine Dontigny takes us into the heart of La Mauricie National Park, near Lake Wapizagonke, a place where she goes canoeing and draws inspiration from nature. The landscape seems to rise from a living memory, between dense forest, golden light and the quiet presence of birds hidden among the trees.

Bright yellows move through the composition like bursts of song, while deep blues, greens and touches of orange evoke the lush vegetation and enveloping atmosphere of the park. Through texture, contrast and the movement of colour, the artist conveys more than a specific scene; she captures a feeling: a suspended moment on the water, surrounded by trees, silence and unseen life.

The title, both musical and poetic, suggests the natural rhythm of the place: birdsong, wind, the gentle movement of a canoe and the memory of forgotten woods. True to her artistic approach, Claudine Dontigny transforms the landscape into a sensitive space of contemplation, where nature becomes refuge, music and emotion.
