In Flanc de falaise sur la rivière St-Maurice, Claudine Dontigny presents a vibrant, almost abstract vision of the Quebec landscape. Dense vegetation clings to the rugged terrain, unfolding in a rich mosaic of greens, yellows and blues, punctuated by touches of red that enliven the composition.

Generous texture and expressive brushwork transform the cliffside into a living surface where shapes and colours seem to merge. In the foreground, the deep waters of the Saint-Maurice River echo the landscape’s blue tones, while touches of yellow reflected on the water create a luminous connection with the vegetation. Between land, water and light, the work conveys the strength and vitality of untamed nature.
