Original artwork

In Vol nocturne, Gabrielle Dumont captures the momentum of a bird in mid-flight, suspended in a luminous space where movement seems to flow through the material itself. With its wings fully outstretched, the bird appears carried by an inner force, moving through an airy world filled with mystery, softness, and light.

The richness of encaustic gives the work a vibrant texture, where shades of white, pale blue, gold, and ochre are layered with fluidity. Gestural lines and transparent effects create a sense of breath and lightness, while the glowing background suggests a dreamlike realm between sky, silence, and reverie.

Through this sensitive composition, Gabrielle Dumont expresses freedom, intuition, and the fragile beauty of living things. A poetic and luminous artwork that invites contemplation of the moment, of movement, and of the impulse toward the unseen.
